Important notice

Gently Settled is a guide based on publicly available information from official UK and Irish sources (gov.uk, mygov.scot, nidirect.gov.uk, citizensinformation.ie and revenue.ie), correct as of October 2026. It is not a will and it is not legal, tax or financial advice, and it does not replace a solicitor, an accountant or another qualified adviser. Rules, fees and thresholds can change: always check the official source given in each chapter. For complex situations (a business, debts, a dispute between relatives, property abroad), please speak to a solicitor.
